TCS FAQs: Tracking, Charges, Offices and Complaints

Short answers to the questions people actually type about TCS shipments, grouped so you can jump to the one you came for. Where a figure changes by city, weight or service, this page tells you where to get the current number instead of quoting one that will be wrong next month.

Start here: almost every TCS tracking question comes back to one thing, the consignment number printed on the receipt as CN. Type it into the tracking box and you get the full scan history, free and without an account. If you do not have that number, the person who booked the parcel does.

Tracking a TCS shipment

TCS tracking is a lookup against a single code. Mobile numbers, order numbers, receipt photos and QR codes are all just different routes back to that same code, which is why the answers below keep pointing at it.

How do I track a TCS parcel online?

Enter the consignment number on the tracking page and read the result from the top down. The first line is the most recent scan. Each line below it carries a date, a status and the facility where the scan happened, and the booking details above the history show origin, destination and booking date. The step by step version is in the guide to tracking a TCS shipment.

What is a CN number, and is it the same as a tracking ID?

Yes, the same code under different names. TCS calls it the consignment number and prints it as CN on receipts. Tracking number, tracking ID, tracking code and tracking no all refer to that numeric string, which is created when the shipment is booked. More detail is in the TCS tracking number guide.

Where is my TCS tracking number written?

If you booked the parcel: on the Express Centre receipt near the barcode, and in the confirmation SMS sent to the number you gave at booking. If a shop is shipping to you: in the dispatch SMS, the shipping confirmation email, the order details page in your account, or on the label once the parcel arrives.

Can I track a TCS parcel by mobile number instead?

Not through a public tracking box. The consignment number is the only identifier that returns a result there. If you have lost it, ask the sender first, since it was issued to them. Failing that, call the TCS helpline with the mobile number used at booking, both names, the origin and destination cities and the booking date, and staff can search their own system for you.

Can I scan the QR code on the receipt to track?

Scanning the code on the receipt usually just hands you the consignment number without typing it, which helps when the print is small. It is not a separate tracking service, and on a creased or faded receipt reading the digits by eye is more reliable than a scan.

The seller only gave me an order number. Will that track?

No. An order number belongs to the shop and does not exist inside TCS systems. The consignment number is created later, when the parcel is actually handed to TCS. Ask the seller for the TCS number before assuming the parcel has not shipped.

How soon after booking does tracking start working?

When the first scan is recorded, not at the moment of booking. A parcel handed over late in the day may show nothing until the next working day, so a fresh number returning no history is normal rather than a sign of a problem.

Does TCS tracking work from outside Pakistan?

Yes. Tracking is not restricted by location, so relatives abroad can check the same number. An international shipment stays on the number it was booked with, though updates on a cross border route arrive further apart than on a domestic parcel because there are fewer scan points.

Is TCS tracking free?

Yes. There is no fee, no account and no app requirement. Anyone holding the consignment number can check the status, which is worth remembering before sharing that number publicly.

Have your CN number handy?

Enter it and see the full scan history in a few seconds.

Track your TCS parcel

When tracking does not look right

Most tracking complaints fall into two groups: the number returns nothing, or it returns a status that has not moved. They have different causes and different fixes.

Tracking says no record found. What now?

Work through five checks before calling anyone. The booking may be too new to have a scan. A digit may have been misread, usually 0 for O or 1 for a lowercase L. A space or dash may have been copied along with the number. The parcel may be with another courier, since marketplaces split orders. Or the code may be an order number rather than a CN. If it survives all five and still returns nothing after a full working day, call TCS with it.

My status has not changed for two days. Is the parcel lost?

Usually not. Scans happen at handover points, not continuously, so a parcel moving on a long route or sitting over a weekend or public holiday can show a flat history while it is still travelling. What matters is the last location and how far it is from the destination. The tracking not updating guide covers how long is too long.

What does arrived at TCS facility mean?

Your parcel reached a TCS hub or branch and was scanned in there. In Roman Urdu: parcel TCS ke facility par pohanch gaya hai aur scan ho chuka hai, abhi delivery ke liye nikla nahi. It is a normal in transit step, and a parcel can pass through more than one facility before it reaches the branch that serves your address. Every status is explained in the TCS status guide.

What does dest branch mean on tracking?

Destination branch, meaning the TCS branch that serves the delivery address. Once a shipment is at the dest branch the long distance leg is finished, and the next update you should expect is the parcel going out with a rider.

It says out for delivery but nobody came.

A rider can run out of daylight, fail to reach you by phone, or find the address incomplete. If it is a cash on delivery parcel, the amount needs to be ready. Keep the number you gave at booking reachable. If the status flips to an attempted or undelivered entry, call the helpline with your CN and ask for the parcel to be sent out again the next working day.

Tracking shows the parcel returning to the shipper.

Delivery could not be completed, so the parcel is going back on the same consignment number. Refused delivery, an unreachable receiver, a wrong address or an unpaid cash on delivery amount all end this way. Contact the sender rather than TCS, because any redelivery or refund is their decision to make.

Delivery times

Transit time depends on the service that was booked, not only on the distance. Two parcels travelling Karachi to Lahore on the same day can be quoted very different windows.

How many days does TCS take?

Overnight class services target the next working day between main cities. Economy and standard services take longer, and destinations off the main network add time on both the outbound leg and the final delivery. Quoted times are working days, so a Sunday or a public holiday in the middle of the journey pushes the date out. Service by service detail is in the TCS delivery time guide.

Does TCS offer same day delivery?

TCS sells a quick within city service under the Hazir name for pickup and delivery inside the same city. Availability depends on the city and on how late in the day you book, so confirm both at the Express Centre or on the helpline before relying on it.

Does TCS deliver on Sunday?

Sunday is not a normal working day across most of the network, and transit times are quoted in working days, so a Sunday usually does not count toward your delivery estimate. Hours differ between centres, and a few large city locations keep their own schedule, so check the specific centre rather than assuming.

My parcel is later than promised. What should I do?

Look at the last scan first. If the parcel is still moving, it is late rather than lost. If there has been no movement for two working days past the promised date, call the helpline with the consignment number and ask for a complaint reference so the case is logged rather than answered verbally.

Offices, timings and head office

TCS runs more than a thousand Express Centres, and they do not all keep the same hours. Third party listings for these branches go stale quickly, which is the main reason people arrive at a closed shutter.

How do I find the nearest TCS office?

Use the TCS near you map on this site to see every centre in your city, or the Near You locator on the official TCS website, or call the helpline and give your area. Both give you the current address for the branch. A map search for TCS Express Centre works too, but treat the opening hours shown there as a guess until you confirm them.

What are TCS office timings?

They vary by centre, which is why no single set of hours on any website can be trusted for your branch. Most Express Centres run Monday to Saturday and close on Sunday, while some hub and airport locations work longer. If you are travelling to drop a parcel or collect one, phone the branch or the helpline first and confirm the closing time for that day.

Where is the TCS head office?

Karachi. The address TCS publishes for its head office is 101 to 104 Civil Aviation Club Road, Karachi 75202. For a parcel problem the head office is rarely the fastest route, because complaints are logged through the helpline and worked on by the branch that holds the shipment.

Can I collect a parcel from the branch myself?

Often yes, if the shipment is sitting at the destination branch and the sender has not restricted it. Call the helpline with your consignment number, ask for the parcel to be held for self collection, and ask what identification the branch will want to see when you arrive.

Charges and rates

There is no single TCS rate, and any blog quoting a fixed price per kilogram is quoting a figure that was true on the day it was written. What you can know in advance is how the price is put together.

What changes the price Why it matters
Weight Charged in bands, and the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight applies, so a light but bulky box can cost more than the scales suggest
Service An overnight class booking costs more than an economy one on the same route
Route City to city on the main network is priced differently from a small town off it
Extras Cash on delivery handling, declared value cover and packaging are added on top
How do I get an exact TCS charge before booking?

Use the rate calculator on the official TCS website with your weight, service and destination, or ask at any Express Centre. Take the parcel with you if the shape is awkward, since the counter weighs and measures it and that is the number the price is built on.

What is a TCS flyer?

A prepaid envelope sold at the counter for documents up to a set weight, priced as one flat item rather than by the scale. It suits papers, certificates and small documents. Current sizes and prices are on display at the centre.

How much does TCS charge for international shipments?

It depends on the destination country, the weight and the service, and the quote is separate from customs duty or tax at the other end, which is normally the receiver problem to settle. Get the quote at the counter or through the international rate calculator on the TCS site, because these rates change with fuel and airline costs.

Cash on delivery

Cash on delivery covers two very different people: the buyer who hands money to a rider, and the seller who runs a TCS account to collect it. The answers below are split accordingly.

How does TCS cash on delivery work?

The seller books the parcel with a cash on delivery amount attached. The rider collects that amount from the buyer at the door and the parcel is handed over. TCS then settles the collected money with the seller, minus courier and handling charges, on the cycle agreed in the seller account.

Can an individual send a parcel cash on delivery?

Not over the counter as a walk in. Cash on delivery runs on a registered business account, which means opening an account with TCS and supplying business and bank details so the collected money can be remitted. Ask at an Express Centre or through the helpline to be put in touch with an account representative.

What is the ECN portal and how do I log in?

ECN is the online booking panel TCS gives to its e commerce and cash on delivery account holders. It is used to create bookings in bulk, print labels and load sheets, and follow shipment status across an account rather than one parcel at a time. Login details are issued when the account is activated, so if the credentials do not work, the account representative is the person to ask. Buyers waiting on an order do not need it.

When does TCS release cash on delivery payments to sellers?

On the settlement cycle written into your account agreement, which differs between accounts and volumes. Your account representative can confirm the cycle and the deductions applied to it. If a specific remittance is missing, quote the consignment numbers involved rather than the order numbers.

Complaints and helpline

A complaint that is logged with a reference number gets followed up. A complaint made verbally and never written down usually does not, so ask for the reference before ending the call.

What is the TCS helpline number?

TCS publishes a universal access number, 111 123 456, dialled with a city code such as 021 111 123 456. The same number is reachable with other city codes and routes into the same customer care network, so there is no advantage in hunting for a city specific line. The published email address for written queries is customercare@tcs.com.pk.

How do I file a TCS complaint?

Have the consignment number, the booking date, both names and phone numbers, and one sentence describing the problem. Call the helpline, ask the agent to register a case, and write down the complaint reference they give you. Sending the same details by email afterwards gives you a dated written record, which matters if the case drags.

My parcel is lost or arrived damaged. Who claims?

Normally the sender, because they are the party who booked the shipment and hold the receipt and any declared value cover. Photograph the packaging and contents before unpacking further, keep everything, and pass the images to the sender so they can open the case. If you sent the parcel yourself, take the receipt to the booking branch.

Nothing has happened since I complained. What next?

Call back with the complaint reference rather than starting again, and ask which branch currently holds the shipment and who owns the case. Visiting the destination branch in person with your receipt tends to move things faster than repeat calls, because the parcel is physically there.

About TCS and this site

What does TCS stand for?

Tranzum Courier Service. The company was founded in May 1983 in Karachi by Khalid Nawaz Awan and his brother Sadiq Awan, originally as a joint venture with DHL, and it is still headquartered in Karachi. In everyday Pakistani usage the three letters are used as a shorthand for courier itself.

Is tcstrack.com the official TCS website?

No. This is an independent tracking and information site, not run by or affiliated with TCS. We do not book shipments, hold parcels, take payments or handle complaints. For bookings, rates, account services and formal complaints, go to TCS directly through its own website, an Express Centre or the helpline.

Why do the rates and timings here not give exact numbers?

Because prices, office hours and service availability change, and a stale figure repeated confidently is worse than no figure. Where a number is stable, such as the consignment number format or how a status behaves, you will find it stated plainly on this site. Where it is not, we point you at the source that holds the current version.
