TCS vs Leopards (2026): Which Courier Is Better in Pakistan?

Both started in 1983, both are privately owned, and both run counters in every major city. The honest answer to which is better is not which one wins overall, but which one wins on your route, for your kind of shipment.

Quick answer: nobody can tell you which is cheaper without knowing your route, weight and service, and both companies publish a free rate calculator that answers it in seconds for your exact shipment. On everything else: TCS leans toward documents, attestation, visa handling and a wider international footprint, while Leopards leans toward cash on delivery for online sellers and counter services such as bill payment, NADRA e-Sahulat and its own wallet. For sellers, TCS has an official Shopify app and publishes where its same-day service runs, while Leopards publishes clearer Retail COD terms, including payout within a week and free pickup. Both offer next-day delivery between major cities, both track on a consignment number, and both take walk-in customers. If you are waiting on an online order, you did not choose the courier anyway: track whichever CN the shop gave you.

TCS or Leopards: which is cheaper?

Comparison pages love to say one courier is a fixed percentage cheaper than the other. Ignore that. Courier pricing in Pakistan moves with weight slabs, origin and destination city, service level and, for business accounts, monthly volume. A figure that was right for a 1 kg Karachi to Lahore parcel last year tells you nothing about 6 kg going from Faisalabad to Gilgit today.

The useful move takes two minutes. Both companies run a public rate calculator, so open both, enter the same origin, destination, weight and service, and compare the two numbers for the shipment you are actually sending:

Three things move the final figure more than the brand does. Weight slabs are the first: a parcel a few hundred grams over a slab boundary is priced in the next slab up, so weighing before you pack often saves more than switching courier. Service level is the second, because an overnight booking and an economy booking on the same route are different products at different prices. Route is the third, and remote destinations cost more with either company.

Two published Leopards rules catch people out. Its domestic Economy service has a minimum chargeable weight of 5 kg, so a 2 kg parcel booked as Economy is billed as 5 kg; for light parcels, Overnight is often the cheaper booking. And Leopards charges large boxes by volume, using length × width × height in centimetres divided by 5,000. A 40 × 30 × 30 cm box of clothes weighing 3 kg is billed as 7.2 kg under that formula. TCS also bills bulky parcels by volume, but we did not find its divisor on a current official page, so ask at the counter. Leopards Box, a fixed-price box in 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15 and 20 kg sizes sent by Overnight Express, is worth pricing for heavy or awkward items.

For TCS, our TCS price calculator guide and TCS charges explained cover how the slabs, fuel surcharge and tax add up.

For online sellers the counter rate is only part of it. A COD account is priced per account, and the number that decides your margin is the delivery charge plus the COD service charge plus what a returned parcel costs you. Ask both companies for all three in writing before you compare.

TCS or Leopards: which is faster?

On paper the two line up closely, because both sell the same shape of product: a next-day express service, a cheaper overland service, and an option to have a parcel delivered at a chosen time.

TCS publishes a specific claim for its next-day service: Overnight Express delivers the day after it takes the shipment, covering roughly 90% of destinations on its network. Leopards markets Overnight Express and same-day options through Mera Time Delivery but, on the pages we checked, does not attach a comparable published percentage to them.

What this means in practice: booking the express service matters more than choosing between the two companies. An economy booking with the faster courier still arrives after an overnight booking with the slower one. And whichever you use, the cut-off time at the counter decides whether the parcel starts moving today or tomorrow morning.

Same-day delivery: TCS vs Leopards

TCS is clearer here. Its Same Day Delivery is described as a service for documents within one city, listed for 11 main cities, with Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad fully covered and only selected areas elsewhere. It does not run between cities. A Lahore to Karachi document booked today is an Overnight Express job, not a same-day one.

Leopards says on its domestic express page that it offers same-day as well as overnight delivery, and Giftwifts by Leopards sells same-day and scheduled delivery for gifts. On the pages we checked, Leopards did not publish which cities or areas qualify.

With either courier, three things decide whether same-day works: both addresses must be inside the covered area, you must book before that branch’s cut-off (no national cut-off is published; branch guides put it somewhere between noon and mid-afternoon), and the item usually needs to be a document or small parcel. Call the branch before you pay. Our TCS urgent delivery guide covers TCS same-day, Hazir and Time Choice in more detail.

Tracking compared

Both work the same way. Every shipment gets a consignment number, printed on the receipt, and the number is how you follow it. Neither company lets you search by a phone number or an address.

TCS tracking

Enter the CN in the tracking box on this site, on TCS’s own website, or call the helpline. The statuses are broad stages from booking through to delivery. Each one is explained in the TCS status guide.

Leopard tracking

Leopards runs its own tracking page, along with a duplicate slip tool for a lost receipt. It also keeps a service alerts page, worth a look before you call about a delay. A Leopard CN will not work in the box on this site, because this tool reads TCS consignment numbers only.

The most common tracking complaint with either courier is the same: nothing has changed for a day or two. That is usually a parcel in transit between hubs rather than a problem, and the reasons are set out in TCS tracking not updating.

Cash on delivery and online sellers

This is where the choice actually matters, because a COD courier is not a delivery service to a seller. It is a delivery service plus a collections service plus a returns cost.

Both run a COD product aimed at small sellers rather than bulk shippers: Retail-COD at TCS, which it says can be opened at any Express Centre with no subscription and no minimum shipment count, and Retail COD at Leopards, which markets itself heavily around Pakistan’s cash on delivery ecosystem. Both provide a seller portal, Envio for TCS and the Leopards e-commerce portal, for booking, tracking and reconciliation in bulk.

Leopards publishes more of the small print for its Retail COD. You register at an Express Centre with a CNIC copy and a cheque, give your bank name and IBAN, and receive a shipper ID by SMS. Leopards says payouts reach your bank within a week of delivery, pickup is free, there is no minimum monthly volume, and Retail COD carries no return fees, fuel surcharge or GST. Those are Leopards’ own claims; get them confirmed on your receipt. TCS says Retail-COD needs no subscription and has no minimum, but it does not publish a settlement cycle, so ask the counter how many days after delivery the money lands. Our TCS COD account guide covers the TCS side in detail.

Four questions decide which suits your shop, and none of them is the headline rate:

  1. Where do your customers live? Pull your last 100 orders by city and check both networks against that list, not against a national map.
  2. How quickly does the cash reach you? Get the settlement cycle in writing from both. For a small seller, working capital usually matters more than a few rupees per parcel.
  3. What does a refused parcel cost? Returns are the hidden line item in COD, and they multiply by your refusal rate. How the return leg works is covered in TCS return tracking.
  4. How do parcels reach the courier? Counter drop-off, scheduled pickup, or both. If you ship from home, this shapes your day.

You are not required to pick one. Plenty of sellers split orders by destination, using whichever courier performs better in each region. A few weeks of real orders with each will tell you more than any comparison table, including this one.

Shopify and online store integrations

If you run a Shopify store, this is a real difference. TCS has an official app on the Shopify App Store, the Official TCS Courier App, listed under the developer name TCS by Outperform Labs. It pushes orders to TCS’s COD portal, generates consignment numbers and prints labels in bulk. It is free to install, but when we checked it had a 2.4 out of 5 rating from 7 reviews, and some reviewers complained about updates and setup. TCS also offers an API for custom stores, with credentials issued after a test phase.

Leopards has no app of its own on the Shopify App Store. Third-party developers fill the gap: Leopards Booking by Nakson and Leopards Courier Integration by Moose Commerce both book Leopards shipments from Shopify orders, generate CNs and create load sheets. Both are free to install, but a third-party app means support comes from that developer, not from Leopards.

For WooCommerce or a custom site, ask either courier’s e-commerce team for API access before you choose. A working integration saves more time each day than a small rate difference saves money.

Getting parcels picked up from your door

Leopards makes pickup easy to request online. Its Leopards Bulao form asks for pickup city, whether the shipment is documents or heavy goods, a vehicle (bike, rickshaw, Shahzor or Bolan), the approximate number of packets and weight, and a time window between 9 am and 8 pm. For Retail COD sellers, Leopards says pickup is free.

TCS takes pickup requests through the helpline and its booking channels, and in some cities offers Hazir, a rider service built around a one-hour target. Pickup charges for walk-in TCS customers are not published, so ask when you book. If you ship a few parcels a week from home, a free regular pickup is worth more than most rate differences.

Complaints, lost parcels and insurance

Every complaint with either courier starts with the consignment number. Without it, neither company can trace anything.

TCS

Call 021 111 123 456 or visit the Express Centre where you booked. Have the CN, the booking receipt and the receiver’s details ready, and note the complaint reference you are given. Our TCS complaint guide and TCS helpline page walk through each channel. If tracking says delivered but nothing arrived, read delivered but not received first.

Leopards

Leopards takes complaints on 021 111 300 786, through an online complaint form, on WhatsApp at 0345 5367273, through web chat on its site, or at the nearest Express Centre.

On loss and damage, the useful step happens before you ship. Leopards sells shipment insurance at all its Express Centres, and its Documents Care Pack and All In One Flyer include insurance in the price. It does not publish the premium or the claim limit online, so ask for both at the counter. For TCS, ask at booking whether declared-value cover is available for your item. With either courier, declare the real value, keep the receipt, and photograph valuable items before packing. Without insurance, compensation for a lost parcel is usually limited to what the booking terms allow, which can be far below what the item was worth.

Sending a parcel abroad

Both ship internationally, and both have an overseas presence: TCS operates offices abroad including in the UAE and the UK, while Leopards runs a UAE operation.

TCS offers International Express for documents and parcels, which it says reaches more than 220 destinations, RedBox International in fixed box sizes, and Students Express for academic documents. Leopards lists a longer menu on its site: Express Plus, Express and Economy tiers, an import service, commercial export, brokerage, international COD, direct linehaul and its own Student Express.

For a one-off shipment, the deciding factor is rarely the brand. It is whether the destination is served, what the quoted transit time is, and what the destination’s customs will do with your declared contents. Ask both at the counter for your specific country, and see TCS international tracking for how these shipments behave once they leave Pakistan.

What else each one does at the counter

Both companies long ago stopped being only couriers, and the extra services differ enough to decide a trip.

TCS handles document attestation with education boards, universities and the HEC (see HEC degree attestation through courier), runs the Visatronix visa dropbox service, renews US passports on behalf of US citizens in Pakistan, sells event tickets, and takes utility bills and challans through branchless banking.

Leopards runs a broader fintech line: bill payment, branchless banking, NADRA e-Sahulat, Leopards Wallet, QR payments and financing, alongside MOFA and Apostille attestation, insurance on shipments, printing and gifting services.

If you are making one trip and need a parcel sent plus an errand done, check which of the two does your errand before choosing where to walk in.

Which one to choose

  • A document that must arrive tomorrow: either overnight service works. Choose by which counter is closer and which is still open today.
  • Degree attestation or a visa dropbox: check TCS first, given Visatronix and its attestation coverage, but confirm your specific board or embassy is on the current list.
  • A CNIC or NADRA errand alongside a parcel: Leopards, through e-Sahulat.
  • A new COD shop: get quotes from both, including COD charges and return charges, and trial both in your top cities.
  • A heavy parcel to another city, no rush: compare the economy service on both calculators. The gap here is usually bigger than on express. Remember the Leopards Economy minimum of 5 kg.
  • A same-day document inside one city: TCS, if both addresses are in its covered area, because it publishes where same-day runs.
  • A valuable item: whichever counter will insure it for its real value. Leopards states insurance is available at every Express Centre.
  • An online order already on its way: the shop chose. Track the CN you were given.

If you sell online

Just starting, a few orders a week: open Retail COD with both. Neither needs a minimum volume, and running the same week of orders through each shows you real delivery times and payout speed. Leopards’ published weekly payout and free pickup make it easy to start; TCS’s large counter network helps if your buyers are spread across smaller towns, but check both against your own order list.

Orders every day: booking at the counter starts eating your time. Move to a seller portal (Envio or the Leopards e-com portal) or a Shopify app, and ask both for a written tariff covering delivery, COD charge and returns.

A steady store with repeat cities: split by destination. Send each city with whichever courier delivered and paid out better there over the last month, and renegotiate rates with your volume as evidence.

Is TCS private or government?

TCS is a private company. It was founded in May 1983 by Khalid Nawaz Awan, a former Pakistan International Airlines flight engineer, together with his brother Sadiq Awan, and it is headquartered in Karachi. It has no connection to Pakistan Post, which is the government postal service.

Leopards is private too, registered as Leopards Courier Services (Private) Limited, with its head office in Karachi. So the choice between them is a choice between two private companies, and neither is bound by government postal tariffs.

What we could not verify

Network size is the weakest number in every comparison of these two, including the ones that state it most confidently. TCS’s own material refers to over 1,000 Express Centres and more than 2,500 locations. For Leopards, the figure we found on its LinkedIn page, 800+ express centres and 1,500+ service locations, sits well below counts quoted on third-party sites, which run to 3,000 and beyond. The two companies also count differently, since an express centre, a franchise and a service location are not the same thing. Treat any head-to-head branch count, here or elsewhere, as approximate.

We also found no published, route-level delivery guarantee from either company that would let anyone say one is faster than the other across Pakistan. Where this page gives a figure, it is the company’s own published claim, marked as such.

Some numbers that circulate on other TCS vs Leopards pages did not hold up when we checked:

  • On-time delivery rates such as 92% for TCS and 88% for Leopards. Neither company publishes an on-time rate, and no independent body measures one for Pakistani couriers.
  • “Leopards is 10–15% cheaper.” Neither courier publishes rates that would support a fixed percentage, and the gap changes with route, weight and service.
  • Fixed COD fees such as 1% for TCS and 1.5% for Leopards. TCS does not publish a single COD percentage, and Leopards’ Retail COD is priced as a service charge paid at booking.
  • “Leopards was founded in 2003.” Leopards’ own website dates the company to 1983.
  • “TCS ships to 200+ countries.” TCS’s own figure is more than 220 destinations.

Frequently asked questions

Which is best, TCS or Leopard?

Neither is best at everything. TCS is the stronger pick for documents, attestation, visa dropbox and international reach. Leopards is the stronger pick for cash on delivery volume and for counter services such as NADRA e-Sahulat, bill payment and its wallet. For a one-off parcel, the nearer open counter and the better quote on your route matter more than the brand.

Is Leopard cheaper than TCS?

Sometimes, on some routes and weights, and not reliably. Both publish a free rate calculator, so enter the same origin, destination, weight and service in each and compare the two figures for your own shipment. Any fixed percentage claim you see online is guesswork.

How much does TCS charge for 1 kg?

There is no single national figure. The charge depends on the origin and destination cities, the service you book and the weight slab your parcel falls in. The TCS rate calculator gives the current price for your exact route in a few seconds, and the counter or the helpline will confirm it.

Which courier is best in Pakistan?

It depends on the job. TCS and Leopards are the two largest general couriers and cover most needs. M&P is widely used for pharmaceutical and corporate work (see TCS vs M&P), Rider serves online sellers only, and Pakistan Post is the cheapest option for non-urgent items (see TCS vs Pakistan Post). For an online business, the right answer is whichever performs best in the cities your customers actually live in.

Which is faster, TCS or Leopard?

Both run a next-day express service between major cities. TCS publishes a specific claim, that Overnight Express covers 90% of destinations on its network the following day. We found no comparable published figure for Leopards. Choosing the express service rather than economy affects arrival more than choosing between the two companies.

Can I track a Leopard parcel here?

No. This site reads TCS consignment numbers only. Use Leopards’ own tracking page for a Leopard CN. If your shipping message does not say which courier has the parcel, ask the shop before trying numbers at random.

Is TCS a government company?

No. TCS is privately owned, founded in 1983 by Khalid Nawaz Awan and his brother Sadiq Awan. Pakistan Post is the government service.

What are TCS and Leopards COD charges?

Neither publishes one COD percentage for everyone. Leopards Retail COD charges a service fee you pay at the counter when booking, and says there are no return fees, fuel surcharge or GST on top. TCS prices COD per account and per tariff. Ask both for the delivery charge, COD charge and return charge in writing for your own routes.

How long do TCS and Leopards take to pay COD money?

Leopards says Retail COD payouts reach your bank within a week of delivery. TCS does not publish a settlement cycle, so confirm it when you open the account. Tracking showing delivered does not mean the money has been paid out yet.

Does TCS or Leopards offer same-day delivery?

Both market it. TCS lists Same Day Delivery for documents within a city in 11 main cities, with Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad fully covered. Leopards offers same-day options but does not publish a city list. Same-day only works inside one city and before the branch cut-off.

Which courier works with Shopify, TCS or Leopards?

Both can. TCS has an official app on the Shopify App Store. Leopards works through third-party apps from other developers. Either way you need a seller account first, and support for third-party apps comes from the app developer.

What is the Leopards helpline number?

Leopards’ UAN is 021 111 300 786, and it also takes queries on WhatsApp at 0345 5367273. The TCS helpline is 021 111 123 456.

Can I insure a parcel with TCS or Leopards?

Leopards says shipment insurance is available at all its Express Centres, priced by shipment value. For TCS, ask at booking. With either courier, declare the real value and keep the receipt.

Does Leopards charge a minimum weight?

On its Economy service, yes: the minimum chargeable weight is 5 kg, and large boxes are billed by volume (length × width × height in cm divided by 5,000). Overnight is often cheaper for light parcels.
