TCS Shipment Tracking by CNIC & Mobile Number: What Actually Works

You cannot track a TCS shipment with a CNIC number. TCS shipment tracking is built around the consignment number (CN) printed on the booking receipt, and a normal booking never records the sender or receiver ID card number, so there is nothing for the system to match a CNIC against. Any website showing a CNIC search box is not reading TCS data.

Four things do work, in the order most people should try them:

  1. Find the CN number in the SMS, email or receipt you already have.
  2. Ask the sender or the online shop. They always have it.
  3. Call TCS on 021-111-123-456 with the delivery address, booking date and sender name.
  4. If you are waiting for a NADRA card, a passport or a bank card, check the issuing organisation first. That is where your CNIC and application number actually work.

Why there is no CNIC search box

The consignment note you sign at the counter asks for names, addresses and phone numbers. It does not ask for an ID card number, so the CNIC never enters the shipment record in the first place. The CN is the only unique key TCS assigns to a booking, and every scan from pickup to delivery is attached to it.

There is a second reason, and it matters more than the technical one. A public CNIC lookup would let anyone who knows your 13-digit number see your home address, what you are receiving and roughly when you are at home. No courier in Pakistan offers that, and a site that claims to is collecting identity data rather than tracking parcels.

Five places your consignment number is hiding

Most people who think the CN is lost are holding it already. Check these before calling anyone.

  • The booking receipt. The CN is printed at the top of the consignment note copy handed to you at the counter.
  • Your SMS inbox. Search your messages for TCS. Shops, banks and offices usually push the number automatically on dispatch day.
  • The shipping confirmation email. Check the spam and promotions tabs too, since courier mail lands there often.
  • The seller order page. On Daraz, Shopify stores and similar platforms, the order detail screen shows the courier name and tracking number once the parcel is picked up.
  • WhatsApp. Small sellers rarely send email. Scroll back through the chat where you placed the order.

TCS reference numbers in circulation are numeric and usually 10 to 12 digits. Type them with no spaces, dashes or letters. A single mistyped digit returns exactly the same empty result as a number that does not exist, so retype it against the receipt before assuming the parcel has gone missing. You can check it in the tracking box on our homepage.

If the receipt is gone completely, go back to the same TCS Express Centre. Staff can search their booking record by date, destination city and the phone number you gave. Take your own CNIC along, not to track the parcel, but to prove you were the sender.

Tracking by mobile number: what is real and what is not

The public TCS parcel tracking page has no phone number field. What exists is narrower than most blogs suggest.

If the shipment was booked through a My TCS account or a corporate account, every consignment booked under that account appears once the account holder signs in with their own credentials. That is account history, not a public phone search, and it only helps the person who did the booking. A walk-in counter booking has no login behind it and nothing to list.

The mobile number still matters in one practical way. Status alerts go to whichever number was entered at booking, and for an online order that is usually the shop number, not the buyer. This is the real reason buyers see no SMS and conclude that tracking is broken. Ask the shop to forward what it received.

Several tracking sites claim that entering any mobile number returns 90 days of parcels after an OTP check. Nothing on the TCS site supports this, and no such screen exists on the public tracking page. Treat it as unverified, and never enter your number followed by an OTP on a third-party tracking site.

When your CNIC does work, just not on a courier site

Most people searching for CNIC-based tracking are not waiting for an ordinary parcel. They are waiting for an identity card, a passport or a bank card that a government body or a bank shipped through a courier. A real tracking system exists in each case. It belongs to the issuer, not to the courier, and it is the place to start.

NADRA cards: CNIC, Smart CNIC, NICOP and B-Form

NADRA does not track applications by CNIC number. It tracks them by a 10-digit Tracking ID printed on the token receipt you were handed when you applied, or sent by SMS and email if you applied through Pak-ID. Your CNIC number is 13 digits and permanent. The Tracking ID is 10 digits and belongs to one application only. Confusing the two is the single most common reason people think NADRA tracking is not working.

Three official channels are available:

  • Pak-ID portal or app. Sign in at id.nadra.gov.pk, or use the Pak Identity app, and open your applications. This gives the most detail, including the dispatch entry. An account is required. Guides that link to an old public tracking page on nadra.gov.pk are out of date, that page did not survive the 2026 website relaunch, as Wego reported in its August 2026 tracking guide.
  • SMS to 8400. Send the 10-digit Tracking ID on its own, with no extra words, from a Pakistani SIM. Standard charges apply. It is the only channel that needs no account, and it does not work from a foreign number.
  • The call centre. NADRA runs its customer support 24/7 on 1777 for mobile users on Jazz, Ufone, Telenor and Zong, and on +92 51 111 786 100 for landlines and overseas callers. This is also how you recover a lost Tracking ID, and it is the one point where your CNIC number genuinely comes into play, as the agent uses it to verify who you are before discussing the file.

The statuses follow a fixed sequence. Under process means it is in the queue. Biometric verification pending means your fingerprints or photo did not match cleanly and you may need to revisit the centre. Printed means the card exists. Dispatched means it has left NADRA. Ready for collection means it is waiting at the centre where you applied.

One correction worth making plainly, because a lot of pages state the opposite: a dispatched NADRA card is not automatically a TCS shipment. NADRA uses more than one delivery channel, and Pakistan Post carries a large share of card deliveries. The dispatch notification, and the dispatch entry in the Pak-ID portal, names the courier and gives that courier a separate tracking number. Use that number on that courier site. Pasting a NADRA Tracking ID into a TCS shipment tracking box will never return a result, no matter how many times you try it.

Pakistani passports

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports runs its own status check, and the key is the token number on your application receipt rather than your CNIC. If you applied online, that token also went to your registered mobile and email. Keep it, because many passport offices ask for it again at collection.

Applicants abroad are in a slightly different position. The mission that took your application holds the reference for the return shipment and can share it when the passport is on its way back. Either way, a status of dispatched means the document has left the printing facility, not that it is at your address. Allow a reasonable delivery window before treating it as a problem.

Bank cards, cheque books and statements

No bank in Pakistan publishes a CNIC lookup for card deliveries either. Call your bank helpline, let the bank verify you with your CNIC and an OTP that the bank itself sends, then ask two questions: which courier is carrying it, and what the consignment number is. With that number in hand, ordinary tracking works normally.

The reverse never applies. If someone calls you claiming to be from the courier or the bank and asks you to read out an OTP to release a parcel, it is a scam. Hang up.

What a genuine TCS shipment tracking result looks like

Knowing the layout helps you recognise a fake result page. A real lookup returns the shipment details first: agent reference number, origin city, destination city and booking date, plus shipper and consignee names on many bookings. Below that sits the tracking summary with the current status, and for a completed delivery, the date, the time and the name of the person who signed. Last comes the dated history, one line per scan, each with a time, a status and a location such as Arrived at TCS Facility, Rawalpindi.

The signed by field is the most useful thing on the page. If a parcel shows delivered and nobody at your address received it, that name is what the helpline needs to open an investigation, and it often turns out to be a guard, a neighbour or a building reception.

One feature almost nobody uses: the tracking box accepts several reference numbers at once, one per line. If you run a small online shop and check a batch of COD parcels every morning, paste the whole list instead of doing them one by one.

If you have no number at all, call with these four details

An agent can search without a CN, but only with enough to search on. Have this ready before you dial:

  • The full delivery address, including the nearest landmark
  • The booking date, or the week you expect delivery
  • The sender name or the shop name
  • The phone number given at booking

The UAN is 021-111-123-456. For anything you want on record, such as a missing or damaged shipment, email customercare@tcs.com.pk with the same four details, since a written trail is worth more than a phone call when a claim is involved. Walking into the nearest Express Centre with your CNIC also works, and is usually fastest for a parcel booked at that same branch.

Fake CNIC tracking pages and unofficial apps

A page that asks for your full CNIC, date of birth or mother name before it will show a parcel is harvesting identity data. No courier needs an ID card number to display a shipment status.

TCS says the same thing on its own site: customers should beware of calls or messages asking them to click links or share payments, OTPs or personal details, and its riders only call to confirm a name and address. Nothing beyond that is a legitimate request.

Apps deserve the same scrutiny. Most TCS shipment tracking apps on the Play Store are independent wrappers, and several state in their own listings that they are not affiliated with or endorsed by TCS and simply read the public tracking page. They are not dangerous by default, but they hold no data that a free web lookup does not already give you.

Frequently asked questions

Can I track a TCS parcel with only my CNIC number?

No. TCS shipment tracking runs on the consignment number. A standard booking does not store anyone CNIC, so there is nothing to search against.

Can the receiver track a parcel they did not book?

Yes, as long as they have the CN number. Tracking is not tied to an account, so anyone holding the number can check the status. Ask the sender to share it.

Is there a TCS tracking option by phone number?

Not on the public page. Shipments booked through a My TCS or corporate account are listed inside that account after login, which only helps the person who made the booking.

My tracking number shows no result. Is the parcel lost?

Usually not. A parcel booked in the last few hours may not have been scanned into the network yet. Recheck every digit, wait a few hours, then call the helpline if it still returns nothing.

How do I track a NADRA card that is out for delivery?

Check the NADRA status first, by SMS to 8400 or through Pak-ID. When it reads dispatched, use the courier name and courier tracking number given in the dispatch notification, and track it on that courier site. It is not always TCS.

Is the NADRA Tracking ID the same as my CNIC number?

No. The Tracking ID is 10 digits and applies to one application. Your CNIC number is 13 digits and permanent. Only the Tracking ID works for status checks.

I lost my NADRA token receipt. Can I still check the status?

Yes. Call 1777 from a mobile in Pakistan, or +92 51 111 786 100 from a landline or from abroad. The agent verifies your identity using your CNIC details and can retrieve the Tracking ID.

Does TCS have an SMS tracking shortcode?

Support runs through the UAN 021-111-123-456 and customercare@tcs.com.pk. The shortcodes quoted on various blogs are inconsistent and mostly outdated, so confirm the current self-service options on tcsexpress.com before relying on one.

How long should I wait before filing a complaint?

If the status has not moved for two working days on a domestic shipment, or the last scan shows the destination city with no delivery attempt, call the helpline with your CN number. Do not wait weeks, since investigations are easier while the scan trail is fresh.
